For purification and characterization of Unknown Impurities some requirements should be clarified, so that the suitable procedure can be defined.
In many cases like already mentioned the "absolute amount" is the limitation factor for the characterization of such compounds. In these cases two possibilities of preparation exist:
 
a) Sub optimized synthesis with the aim to increase the searched impurities.
